Northbound Audio: a cinematic studio concept

Near-black & amber

Charcoal, silver-white and amber create a single dark visual system. Barlow Condensed gives the page its bold studio voice, while Instrument Sans keeps the detailed copy and controls easy to read. Northbound Audio is fictional, the imagery is original concept work and the three audible tracks are synthetic demonstrations.

Let the Work Be Heard First

The page builds confidence through sound, clarity and a welcoming next step.

Music is difficult to judge from a service list. This concept moves the listening experience near the top of the page, where an artist can hear three different sound directions and compare the same moment before and after the finishing work.

Selected projects, services, the studio approach and a three-part process then give the sound context. Example rates remain visible, so the visitor reaches the enquiry with a practical understanding of the likely scope.

The enquiry asks only for the details needed to begin a useful conversation. In this demo it finishes with a local review screen and an explicit reminder that nothing was sent or stored.

What the Finished Concept Includes

A complete path from first impression to listening, service choice, pricing and a clear project enquiry.

Audible Before / After Player

Three original 16-second arrangements are generated in the browser. Each rough and finished pair has the same duration and matched average level, so the comparison stays focused on balance, detail and space.

Original Studio Art Direction

Cinematic studio scenes and three fictional record covers were created for this concept. The reference samples informed the mood, but none of their artwork or layouts appear in the finished page.

One Connected Listening Journey

Project artwork opens the matching demo, service panels explain the work, and service and rate links carry the visitor into the enquiry with the right option already selected.

A Shorter Enquiry Preview

Five required fields capture the project essentials. Artist name, music link and deadline stay optional, with inline validation and a review screen that clearly says nothing was sent or stored.

Example Rates in Context

Mastering, mix and master, and recording prices stay visible in a simple comparison. Each price action opens the form with its matching service selected.

Continuous Comparison Controls

Before and After switch with a short crossfade and keep the same playback position. Seeking, volume, track changes, replay and tab-hidden pausing all follow the shared audio clock.

A Welcoming Studio Voice

The copy explains the engineer’s process, preparation and boundaries in plain language. It gives artists a clear next step without turning the page into a qualification test.

Responsive and Accessible

The composition adapts from widescreen to 360px, with keyboard controls, visible focus, reduced-motion behaviour, reserved image space and readable no-JavaScript fallbacks.

How the Concept Is Structured

Each section answers the next question an artist is likely to have, without repeating the same layout or overloading the page.

A cinematic first impression

A concise studio position, original imagery and two clear paths: hear the demos or start a project.

The listening experience

Three audible synthetic arrangements with playback, seeking, volume and a continuous level-matched comparison.

Selected fictional projects

Artwork-led production notes connect each imagined release directly to its matching sound demonstration.

Services and studio approach

Selectable services, coordinated imagery and welcoming copy explain how the engineer listens, prepares and collaborates.

Process and example rates

Three project milestones lead into clear prices for mastering, mix and master, and vocal recording.

Compact local enquiry

Five required fields, three optional details, accessible errors and a confirmation that stores and sends nothing.
