Website Redesign Australia

Rebuild The Site Without Losing The Rankings

Redesigning a website is the easy part. Doing it without wiping out the search traffic you already have is the part most agencies get wrong. We audit first, map every redirect before launch, and measure the result against your old numbers. From $999, fixed price.

Your Rankings Survive The Move

The single biggest risk in a redesign is losing search traffic you spent years earning. We export every indexed URL, identify the pages actually bringing in visitors, and map each one to a 301 redirect before launch — not as a clean-up job afterwards.

Rebuilt Mobile-First

Most sites due for a redesign were designed for a desktop and squeezed onto a phone afterwards. We start from the phone, because that is where the majority of your visitors already are and where the old site is losing them.

Fast Enough To Rank

Page speed is a ranking factor and a conversion factor at the same time. We rebuild on a modern stack, compress and correctly size every image, and hand you a before-and-after Lighthouse report so the improvement is a number rather than an adjective.

Designed Around Enquiries

A redesign that looks better but converts the same is a wasted budget. We map how visitors actually move through the current site, find where they drop out, and rebuild the paths that matter — clear calls to action, short forms, visible phone numbers, obvious next steps.

Content Kept, Not Retyped

Your existing content, images, testimonials and case studies come across intact. We rewrite what is genuinely out of date and keep what is still working — no starting from a blank page and no losing the pages that already rank.

Measured Before And After

We record your current traffic, rankings and enquiry volume before touching anything, then track the same numbers after launch. If a redesign cannot be measured, there is no way to know whether it worked.

Why Most Website Redesigns Go Backwards

There is a pattern we see constantly. A business spends five figures on a redesign, the new site looks far better than the old one, and three months later the phone is quieter than it was before. Nobody can explain why, so the site gets blamed for looking wrong, and the cycle starts again in two years. The actual cause is almost always the same: the redesign changed the URLs and nobody mapped the redirects, so every page Google had indexed over the previous decade quietly turned into a 404.

The second cause is subtler. A redesign gets scoped as a visual project — new colours, new photography, a modern layout — and nobody asks what the old site was doing well. Pages that ranked get merged into a slick new section and lose the specificity that made them rank. Long, detailed service pages get trimmed to something elegant and stop answering the questions people were searching for. The site is objectively prettier and objectively less useful to a search engine.

We work the other way around. The audit comes before the design, not after it, because you cannot protect what you have not measured. We record your current traffic, rankings and enquiry volume first. We identify which pages earn their place and make sure they survive in a recognisable form. Every URL gets mapped. Then we design — and afterwards we compare the same numbers, so you can tell whether the money did anything.

Our Website Redesign Process

Audit, map, design, build, test, launch — in that order, because the order is what protects your rankings.

1

Audit The Current Site

We review your existing site properly before proposing anything: which pages earn traffic, which rank, where visitors drop out, how fast it loads, what is broken, and what is genuinely worth keeping. You get the findings in writing whether or not you proceed.

3–5 days
2

Map Content And Redirects

Every existing URL is exported and mapped to its new destination. Pages that earn traffic are protected, thin or duplicate pages are consolidated deliberately rather than accidentally, and the full redirect plan is agreed before design begins.

2–4 days
3

Design The New Site

New page designs built around your brand and around the conversion problems the audit found. You review and approve real screens — homepage, key service pages, contact — before any development starts.

1–2 weeks
4

Build And Migrate Content

The new site is built mobile-first on a modern stack, with your existing content migrated across, updated where it is dated, and restructured where the old navigation was burying things.

1–2 weeks
5

Test On Staging

You see the complete site on a private staging link before anyone else does. Every redirect is tested, forms are checked end to end, and we run a full speed and accessibility pass on every template.

3–5 days
6

Launch And Monitor

DNS cutover with redirects already live, sitemap resubmitted, and Search Console watched daily for the first fortnight to catch any URL that slipped. Analytics and conversion tracking verified against the old baseline.

1–2 days plus monitoring

Website Redesign FAQs

A refresh of a small, structurally sound site starts at $999. A full redesign of a typical business site is $2,500, and replatforming or ecommerce migration is $4,500. Australian agencies commonly quote $8,000–$25,000 for the same work, largely because of overheads we do not carry. Every quote is fixed in writing before we start, and payment plans are available.
